2020 was a crazy year with Covid-19, but with vaccines becoming available, things are starting to look more hopeful. In the meantime, we can continue to minimize risk for ourselves and others by taking all the necessary precautions – including wearing a mask.
Since mask-wearing should be part of your new routine whenever you leave your house, it’s a good idea to have a system in place to make sure you always have clean masks available and with you when leaving the house.
We wear masks every day to work, school, and when visiting any business or establishment. As a family of four, we have quite a collection of masks to make sure we have enough clean ones available in between washes. See some of my favorite face masks and accessories here.
Organizing + Storage
I keep all of our cleans masks in this slender rectangular bin. It organizes our masks and makes them easy to access. I keep the kids’ mask in front, my masks in the middle, and my husband’s in the back. We have the bin placed in the foyer where we can easily remember to take one before leaving the house.
For all our dirty and used masks, we use this small laundry bag. It’s conveniently placed near our entranceway so we can just easily drop it in when entering our home. When it’s full, we just throw it into the washer.
If you’re short on counter space, another option is to use this wall mount to hang your face masks. Keeping it by the entryway makes it easy to remember to grab a face mask before heading out. Each hook can be designated for each family member with a few face masks ready to grab. You can also hang the small laundry bag here for the dirty face masks.
Favorite Face Mask Style
If you’re looking for a comfortable, fitted, anti-fog face mask, I highly recommend a 3D face mask. This style is also known as an origami face mask because the construction has multiple sewn folds. This design props the face masks slightly off the face where the mouth is and conforms to the sides of the face so there are no gaps. You can find a lot of different prints and fabrics on Etsy, but I’ve listed some of my favorites below.

Note that I’m not giving medical advice – consult the CDC and local health officials for up-to-date recommendations on mask-wearing. Cloth masks are not medical grade. All masks and accessories should be washed and sanitized before each use.
